Board of
Directors
– UBAM Swim Club Standing Committees
Board of Directors
– The Board of Directors is composed of eight members of the
Parents’ Club who are elected on a rotating basis to serve
two-year terms. The Head Coach is the ninth member and is a
permanent member of the board. Their ultimate responsibility
is for directing the financial affairs and governing the
club. The Board Members usually serve on the various standing
committees.
Finance Committee
Committee Chair: Bill Anderson and Joe Cho
Consists of the Treasurer, President and other selected members of
the Board or parents group. Responsible for budget
preparation, management of balance sheets, and recommendations to
the Board of approval of major expenditures or funding
programs.
Fundraising Committee
Committee Chair: Dominic Frustaci
Responsible for organizing and administering selected programs
designed to generate income or contributions to the organization to
provide a determined financial offset to the anticipated capital
needs and operating expenses of the business beyond projected
income from dues, fees, and public services. Each family
member (as an owner) is expected to help share in supporting the
achievement of such program goals so that our high quality services
can be continued at expected levels.
Hospitality Committee
Committee Chair: Open
Responsible for supervising the hospitality room at district or
dual meets and providing refreshments at selected meetings and
other special events.
Merchandise Committee
Committee Chair: Donna Ruszaj & Lucy
Mastrandrea
Responsible for selecting, ordering and delivering team related
merchandise such as t-shirts, suits, caps and special items.
Would work with the special events committee when necessary to
provide merchandise that supports their objectives.
Membership Committee
Committee Chair: Kathy Edman
Responsible for maintaining the club roster as well as the
collection and tracking of club dues and fees.
Meet Committee
Committee Chair: Jason Bowers
Responsible for coordinating all activities surrounding swim meets
that UBAM sponsors. Will coordinate volunteers, hospitality,
officials, timers and all other meet related tasks.
Pool Committee
Committee Chair: Judy Ruh
Works with the coaches and UB/Williamsville schools to provide
practice facilities. Communicates to the club the practice
schedule and location via club website.
Communication Committee
Committee Chair: Ellen Scumaci & Robin Helak
Responsible for creating and managing opportunities that strengthen
the team and the parents group. Responsibilities also include
creation and distribution of the UBAM Directory, UBAM newsletter
and Website opportunities when requested.
Special Events Committee
Committee Chair: Tracy & Rich Geiger & Cindy
Anderson
Organization of awards banquets, picnics, annual parents meeting
and other selected special events.
Timing Committee
Committee Chairman: Joe Cho
Responsible for recruiting timers when required for certain
meets.
